David MacKenzie is a mental game golf coach and lives in Washington DC. He achieved a MA (Hons) from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. After working as an investment manager in London and San Francisco (where he was a member of The Olympic Club), he decided to follow his passion and pursue a career in golf coaching. After years of in depth study and interviews with players of all levels, he created the Golf State of Mind Audio Teaching. It has helped hundreds of golfers improve their scores and enjoy more of the life skills that can be learnt from the great game of golf. He currently coaches tournament golfers, amateurs and PGA professionals on how to play and teach golf through a better mental approach.
David has devised a unique yet simple way to learn golf, that does not involve any technical game learning. He teaches drills to improve powers of visualization and feel which is ultimately the most effective way to improve.
The teaching philosophy is based upon the fact that, despite all the technological advancement in golf equipment and teaching, golfers have not improved their scores during the past 20 years. The average golfer has over complicated the game to a degree that now makes it very hard to improve. Too many golfers love the game, but sadly do not enjoy it and progress in the way they should. MacKenzie’s teaching simplifies and refreshes golf teaching and puts golfers on a structured path to reaching their true potential.
